Loecke Show Steers was established in 1999 by Mike and Megan Loecke. Located in Northeast Iowa, the operation's 70 cows have a foundation built largely upon females acquired from Joyce Show Cattle.
In 2013, the Loecke operation was expanded with a farm purchase north of Manchester, Iowa. Local legend from the early 1970s claims that several area farmers recorded sightings of a large, Bigfoot-like creature on the newly acquired Loecke farm, which prompted the property to be named Big Foot Ranch.
The Loecke family keeps busy with their five daughters - twins, Myla and Macy (13), Lucy (10), Trudy (7) and Vera (3). Mike is self-employed with MEP Construction Inc. and Loecke Auction & Clerking Service in Manchester, Iowa, but his true passion has always been livestock and farming. The girls show calves locally and at the Iowa State Fair.
Strong genetic principles and a family operation backed by hard work and values makes Big Foot Ranch a definite stop for anyone in the club calf and replacement female market. Make sure to add them to your next visit to Eastern Iowa.
